Former Food Network chef to Open Pizzeria in Birmingham's Five Points South
Southern chef and former Food Network host Ben Vaughn is preparing to open his second Birmingham area restaurant. Vaughn said he will employ the same philosophy at his new eatery -- a classic pizzeria planned for the former Cosmo's Pizza space in Birmingham's Five Points South -- that he does at his farm-to-table restaurant Root to Tail.
The craft pizza bar, which Vaughn is calling Libertines Pizza Co., will feature local, fresh and seasonal ingredients. The chef said no shortcuts will be taken when making the pizza dough.
