Noted Vestavia Hills Restaurant Gets a New Executive Chef

Tripp Mauldin, an Alabama native who most recently served as the head chef at Side by Side restaurant in Tuscaloosa, is the new executive chef at Satterfield's Restaurant in Vestavia Hills.

Mauldin, who earned a finance degree from the University of Alabama and graduated from culinary school at Johnson & Wales University in Colorado, worked in restaurants in San Francisco and the Napa Valley before returning home to Alabama a few years ago to become executive chef at Montgomery Country Club. He subsequently served as the head chef at Side by Side in the Embassy Suites in downtown Tuscaloosa.
