Handmaking a Sweet Alabama Tradition
The orange rolls served at The Club are a 60-plus-year tradition — and their most famous one, at that. “If they find out you work at The Club, orange rolls come up,” said 34-year staff member Betty Starks.
The Club serves them at every meal, provides them as wedding guest favors and always makes sure to bring along a few trays for tasting events. As executive chef James Riles puts it, “They won’t let us in the door” without the rolls.
